Below is a collection of photographs that I took while visiting the Desert Botanical Gardens during the Chihuly Glass: The Nature of Glass Exhibit in the Spring of 2009. To learn more about Chihuly you can visit his website. The pieces are incredible. Imagine the care it takes to just set up this exhibit!
To learn more about the Desert Botanical Gardens you can visit my garden page on visits to the garden or their website at Desert Botanical Gardens. Hope you enjoy the photos!
Even before you enter the gardens, you'll be greeted with, " Wildflower Towers", art by Chihuly situated amongst the raised garden bed right before the entrance.

In the new beds of the Ottosen Entry Garden there are several pieces by Chihuly including the red spikes, " Amber Cattails, 2008" and the beautiful center piece, "The Sun"

"The Sun"

I love blues and purples, which could be found in the Cactus & Succulent Gardens area

"Neodymium Reeds, 2008"
A pretty cool Chandelier
"Chiostro di Sant' Appolonia Chandelier, 1995"
It is hard to pick a favorite grouping, but if I had to pick one it would be the one with the best view from the bridge in amongst the Agaves a mixture that really does resemble reeds from a marsh.

"Blue Reeds, Marlins & Floats, 2008"
Another view taken near the Herb Garden
Canoe filled with round glass balls.
"Float Boat, 2008"
Tucked behind a stone bench in the shady garden of the "Wildflower Trail" the beautiful green glass almost blend with the desert trees.
Not sure of the name of this one
I bet the hummingbirds like this sculpture. The yellow glass intertwines with red glass trumpet looking flowers, this Chihuly art piece was found on the "Wildflower Trail" at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix.

"Mexican Hat & Horn Tower, 2008"

"Orange Hornet and Eelgress Chandelier,2008"
And back to where we started, the Ottosen Entry Garden
