Not all bugs are bad for your garden. Some beneficial bugs for your Phoenix garden include lady bugs, preying mantids,spiders, lace wings, assassin bugs, big-eyed bugs and damsel bugs. Lizards are beneficial critters that will keep your bad bugs in check and they're fun to watch. Leaf cutter bees are beneficial, you'll know they've visited when you see perfect circular cuts out of your rose bush leaves. I'm sure they'll be back this year, so I'll try and remember to take a photo. They use the leaf to make a nest.

Lizards are great to have in your yard they eat a lot of bugs. Originally we had three lizards that lived in our garden, now we have more than seven all different sizes. They love to hide behind the vines on the wall.
Bumble Bees- these busy creatures pollinate our flowers and in turn we get fresh fruit and beautiful flowers.
Ladybugs, if you can keep them around, are good bugs they love aphids.
Aphids dislike garlic, so interplanting garlic between plants susceptible to aphids can be a good natural deterant. Our Butterfly Weed plant seems to attract the Oleander Aphid, which are bright orange aphids with black legs. They are quite striking for a bug.
I really detest the whiteflies, but they seem quite prevelant once the weather gets warmer. You can always tell they're there if you touch a plant and a swarm of tiny flying bugs go everywhere. Very hard to photograph because they are so little. Green Lacewings are a good all around bad bug eater. The Larvae eats whiteflies and many other pesty bugs.
