Agastache is a great bloomer and attracts the hummingbirds. Also called Hummingbird Mint. It has proved to be very hard to come by locally, so this plant is a mail order Agastache cultivator 'Acapulco Salmon & Pink' Not only do the leaves have a nice scent once this plant flowers it should be irresistable to the hummingbirds. The plant arrived tiny, but it is healthy. Once put in the ground it has spread out nicely wihtin a month. Buds just started to appear at the end of April. We also started Agastache 'Purple Pigmy' from seeds indoors.

Agastache 'Acapulco Salmon & Pink' and 'Purple Pigmy'

My first Agastache was beautiful in the spring but it was dead by summer. I am not giving up on the the Agastaches though because they are so pretty and the hummingbirds love them.

So, I planted two new Agastaches in March 2010. Agastache cana "Texas Hummingbird Mint" and Agastache rupestris 'Licorice Mint or Sunset Hyssop.' The rupestris is spaced between the Autumn sage to provide some intial shade while it becomes established and the cana is in between the gallardias.
