Growing Salvia's attracts the butterflies and the hummingbirds. Most are considered perennials around here and will return each year, sometimes needing to be divided.
Gorgeous spikes of flowers look especially nice when planted in masses. Generally available in the blue family, but can also be found in white. There are many different cultivators of Salvia farinacea available, we have the 'Cathedral' deep blue ones planted in our south garden. And growing from seed are the 'Evolution' Salvias.
