The Houston Japanese Garden is located in the city's most beautiful park-Hermann Park. The Park is home to the Japanese Gardens, the Zoo, beautiful fountains and ponds as well as a train ride and a lake. The Japanese Garden has beautiful winding paths, peaceful waterfalls, a teahouse that was constructed in Japan and a reflecting pond. The gardens were created in the daimyo style.

Dallas Texas Botanical Gardens
Dallas, Texas is located in North Central Texas, which can be hot and muggy in the summer with high rainfall and cold in the winters. The growing season is shorter than Houston's.
Their growing season is mid April-Oct.

"Dallas Blooms" is an annual event taking place in March and April. Hundreds of thousands of spring flowering bulbs are in full bloom. If you love tulips, Dallas has an outstanding display of these spring bulbs. The wide paved pathways are easy to navigate.

Dallas boasts the largest spring flower festival in the Southwest

The Margaret Elisabeth Jonsson Color Garden is 6.5-acres and is home to more than 2,000 varieties of azaleas (the largest collection of any state owned park). Dallas Spring blooms with daffodils, tulips and dogwood.


A cool exhibit for the kids is, Texas Town, a 2.5 acre plot that shows what is was like to be a pioneer farmer. This area features seven small gardens, as well as several interactive sites like a covered wagon to explore, cabins, a sod house, tepee, and old farm plow. A fun area to explore.
